Men’s Hockey Crushes Brockport, 6-1

Defenseman Todd Graham netted his first goal of the season
Box Score BUFFALO, NY—Six different players scored and Kevin Carr (Unionville, ON/Unionville) made 37 saves as Buffalo State (5-3-3) cruised past visiting Brockport (2-8-2/1-4-1), 6-1, in a SUNYAC game tonight in the Ice Arena.

Mike Zannella (Ithaca, NY/Ithaca), Todd Graham (Melbourne, Australia) and Adam Rossi (Surrey, BC/Burnsview) each had a goal and an assist to lead the Bengals. Scott Roy (Rockland, ON/ESC L'Escale), Corey Gurski (Hilton, NY/Hilton), and Nick Berst (Depew, NY/Lancaster) also scored for Buffalo State, while Taylor Pryce (Newmarket, ON/Cardinal Carter) and Ryan Salkeld (Suffolk, VA/Churchland) picked up two assists apiece.

Roy opened the scoring with his first goal as a Bengal less than five minutes into the game. Gurski pushed the lead to 2-0 before the first intermission, stealing the puck behind the net before peeling around and tucking it home. The Bengals put the game away with four goals in the second frame, including three on the power play. Brockport spoiled Carr's shutout bid with a power-play marker of its own with just 2:44 remaining.

Buffalo State finished 3 for 6 with the man-advantage, and Brockport was 1 for 7. The Golden Eagles ended the game with a slight 38-37 advantage in shots, although the Bengals had a 30-23 edge through the first two periods.

Buffalo State will next play a pair of non-conference games at Johnson & Wales next Friday and Saturday.
