Box Score BUFFALO, NY—Six different players scored and
Kevin Carr (Unionville, ON/Unionville) made 37 saves as Buffalo State (5-3-3) cruised past visiting Brockport (2-8-2/1-4-1), 6-1, in a SUNYAC game tonight in the Ice Arena.
Mike Zannella (Ithaca, NY/Ithaca),
Todd Graham (Melbourne, Australia) and
Adam Rossi (Surrey, BC/Burnsview) each had a goal and an assist to lead the Bengals.
Scott Roy (Rockland, ON/ESC L'Escale), Corey Gurski (Hilton, NY/Hilton), and
Nick Berst (Depew, NY/Lancaster) also scored for Buffalo State, while
Taylor Pryce (Newmarket, ON/Cardinal Carter) and
Ryan Salkeld (Suffolk, VA/Churchland) picked up two assists apiece.
Roy opened the scoring with his first goal as a Bengal less than five minutes into the game. Gurski pushed the lead to 2-0 before the first intermission, stealing the puck behind the net before peeling around and tucking it home. The Bengals put the game away with four goals in the second frame, including three on the power play. Brockport spoiled Carr's shutout bid with a power-play marker of its own with just 2:44 remaining.
Buffalo State finished 3 for 6 with the man-advantage, and Brockport was 1 for 7. The Golden Eagles ended the game with a slight 38-37 advantage in shots, although the Bengals had a 30-23 edge through the first two periods.
Buffalo State will next play a pair of non-conference games at Johnson & Wales next Friday and Saturday.
