Box Score ONEONTA, NY—
Jake Simmons (Rochester/School of the Arts) became the first Bengal to score 2,000 career points, but Buffalo State (12-9/7-8) suffered its third-consecutive loss, falling at Oneonta (4-19/3-13), 72-67, today in a SUNYAC game.
Simmons led the Bengals with 19 points, going 9 of 22 from the field.
Roderick Epps (Uniondale/Uniondale) added 15 points, and
Chris Castren (Voorheesville/VoorheesvillE) had 11 points.
Oneonta never trailed and took a 42-26 lead into the intermission. The Bengals cut it to two in the second half, but could not pull even. Oneonta pushed the lead back to double-digits in the final minute and held on for the win.
The Red Dragons outscored the Bengals 15-6 from 3-point range and 19-11 at the free-throw line.
Buffalo State will return home on Friday night against Plattsburgh at 8 p.m.
