Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 CORTLAND, NY—No. 11-ranked Mount Union (1-0) and Richard Stockton (1-1) each spoiled Buffalo State's (0-2) opening day of the 2013 season, handing the Bengals a pair of straight-set defeats at the Cortland Red Dragon Classic.

The Bengals fell to nationally-ranked Mount Union, 17-25, 11-25 and 13-25 in the opening match. Chelsea Moore (Kenmore/Kenmore West) led Buffalo State with 20 digs, while Kelsey Bashore (Antwerp, OH/Antwerp) had 13 digs and 11 assists.

Stockton won the late match 26-14, 25-10 and 25-21. Kayla Pyc (Cheektowaga/Maryvale) had a team-high five kills, while Bashore had 16 assists, eight digs and four kills.

Buffalo State will conclude the Cortland Classic tomorrow with matches against Clarkson and Pitt-Bradford at 1:30 and 4 p.m. respectively.
