BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (8-6) overcame 25 attack errors and pulled away in the fifth and deciding set to defeat visiting Medaille (3-9), 25-15, 20-25, 25-15, 23-25 and 15-7 in a non-conference match tonight at the Sports Arena.

The team that scored first won each of the first four sets, before Buffalo State used an early five-point run to create separation in the deciding set.

Sarah Horvath (Blasdell/Immaculata) led the Bengals with 12 kills and added 20 digs in the victory. Kayla Pyc (Grand Island/Grand Island) chipped in 10 kills and three blocks, while Kelsey Bashore (Antwerp, OH/Antwerp) had 26 assists and 23 digs. Chelsea Moore (Kenmore/Kenmore West) chipped in 21 digs and two aces.

Buffalo State will travel to Brockport to open SUNYAC play against Geneseo this Friday at 5 p.m.
