Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 BEREA, Ohio—Buffalo State (4-4) improved its record to .500 with a pair of strong four-set wins today over John Carroll and host Baldwin-Wallace on the final day of the Marcia French Invitational.

Buffalo State and John Carroll battled to four-straight two-point sets in the opening match with the Bengals prevailing 27-25, 25-24, 24-26 and 29-27. Samantha Parente (E. Patchogue/Bellport) led the way with a season-high 22 kills, while Kayla Pyc (Grand Island/Grand Island) added 15 kills. Kelsey Bashore (Antwerp, OH/Antwerp) had 56 assists and 23 digs. Sarah Horvath (Blasdell/Immaculata) added nine kills and 24 digs.

The Bengals prevailed 25-20, 23-25, 25-21 and 25-18. Parente and Bashore again drove the offense. Parente finished with 16 kills, and Bashore had 43 assists to go with five kills and 24 digs. Pyc chipped in 14 kills, and Horvath had 12 kills and 28 digs. Chelsea Moore (Kenmore/Kenmore West) added 26 digs, and Allie Opera (Lancaster/Lancaster) had 25 digs.

Parente was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Buffalo State will open its home schedule on Wednesday at 7 p.m. against the University of Rochester.
