Brett Hope (Blenheim, ON/Blenheim) had two goals and an assist and
Kevin Carr (Unionville, ON/Unionville) made 37 saves as Buffalo State (7-7-3) battled back and claimed a 3-2 overtime victory over visiting Nazareth (2-11-1) in a non-conference game tonight at the Sports Arena.
After Hope scored his second of the game with just 2:27 remaining to even the score at 2-2,
Taylor Pryce (Newmarket, ON/Cardinal Carter) netted the game winner with a shot from the low slot just 35 seconds into the overtime.
Nazareth opened the scoring with the lone goal of the opening period. Buffalo State evened the score just 1:33 into the second period on a high shot by Hope, but the Golden Flyers reclaimed the lead less than three minutes later.
Nazareth controlled much of the third period, outshooting the Bengals 16-8 for the stanza, but Hope cashed in a rebound in the closing minutes to force and extra frame and set the stage for Pryce's game-winner.
Jake Rosen (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville North) had a pair of assists for the Bengals. Nazareth outshot Buffalo State, 39-29, for the contest.
Buffalo State will host another non-conference game on Friday against Curry College at 7 p.m.
