ROCHESTER, NY—
Sam Parente (E. Patchogue/Bellport) had 10 kills and was involved in three of the Bengals 10 blocks as Buffalo State (19-9) swept host Nazareth (20-7) tonight in a non-conference match.
The match started roughly 45 minutes late after a scheduling error with the officials. When the referees arrived, Buffalo State jumped out to a 5-0 lead and held on for a 26-24 win in the first set, and then completed the sweep, 25-23 and 25-19.
Hannah Renaldo (N. Collins/N. Collins) had nine kills, nine digs and three blocks, while
Jessica Crooks (Niagara Falls/Niagara-Wheatfield) added seven kills.
Courtney White (Ft. Lauderdale, FL/St. Thomas Aquinas) had six blocks.
Jennifer Cecchettini (Hamburg/Frontier) added 20 assists and eight digs.
The Bengals finished with a .263 attack percentage, compared to .162 by the Golden Flyers, and also had a 10-2 advantage in blocks.
Buffalo State will make the journey to Plattsburgh to close out the SUNYAC regular season this weekend. The Bengals will first face Oneonta on Friday at 5 p.m.
