PLYMOUTH, N.H.—Buffalo State (0-0-1) netted three goals in the second period, but host Plymouth State (0-0-1) tallied three third-period goals to secure a 3-3 tie in tonight's season opener.

Christine Harris (Mountain Top, PA/Wyoming Seminary) opened the scoring on the power play, and then senior
Kara Goodwin (Avon Lake, OH/Avon Lake) and freshman
Missy Mallon (Amherst, NY/Amherst) pushed the lead to 3-0 before the second intermission.
Maddie Toczek (N. Tonawanda, NY/Starpoint),
Hannah Tarr (Los Angeles, CA/Taft),
Brooke Krantz (Penticton, BC/Penticton),
Caitie Horvatits (Elma, NY/Iroquois) and
Bri Carroll (Peoria, AZ/AZ Virtual Academy) all picked up assists.
The Panthers finally broke through midway through the third period on a goal by Kelsey Cosby. Jaime Carpenter cut the deficit to 3-2 with seven minutes remaining, and then Kate Banys evened the score with a power-play marker with just over four minutes remaining.
Buffalo State finished with a 40-31 advantage in shots, despite spending twice as much time in the penalty box as Plymouth State. The Bengals finished 1 for 4 on the power play, and the Panthers were 1 for 8. Freshman
Justine Silva (El Monte, CA/Arroyo) made 28 saves in her first collegiate start.
Buffalo State will conclude the Plymouth State Tournament tomorrow against Nichols at noon.
