WINCHENDON, Mass.— Kara Goodwin (Avon Lake, OH/Avon Lake) scored just 1:14 into the game for Buffalo State (5-3-2), but Franklin Pierce (6-1-1) tallied a late goal to close out the two-game non-conference set today with a 1-1 tie.
 
Goodwin gathered a rebound off a shot from Brooke Krantz (Penticton, BC/Penticton) for her ninth goal of the season in the very early going.  Bri Carroll (Peoria, AZ/AZ Virtual Academy) also picked up an assist. 
 
After a scoreless second period, the Ravens pushed the pace in the final frame, firing 13 shots on the Bengals' goal and finally broke through with just over three minutes remaining in regulation.  Neither team would score in the extra period.
 
Franklin Pierce had a 30-20 advantage in shots for the game, but Justine Silva (El Monte, CA/Arroyo) made 29 stops in goal for Buffalo State.
 
The Bengals will host the No. 1-team in the nation Plattsburgh for a pair of ECAC West games next Friday and Saturday.
