Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

Curry Defeats Men’s Hockey, 7-3

MILTON, Mass.—Curry (9-5-2) scored three goals in the final 3:19 of the game to close out a 7-3 victory over visiting Buffalo State (6-9-2) today in a non-conference contest.

Charles Lapierre (St-Marc de Fighery, QC/Upper Canada College) answered a first-period goal by Curry to even the score at 1-1 into the first intermission.  The Colonels dominated the second period, however, firing 20 shots on the Bengals' goal, and lit the lamp three times to take a 4-1 lead into the final stanza.

The Bengals connected with a pair of power-play goals by Jason Zaleski (Scranton, PA/Scranton) and Taylor Pryce (Newmarket, ON/Cardinal Carter), cutting the margin to just one with eight minutes remaining, but Curry put the game away with three late goals, including an empty-netter.

Ian Sylves (Sloan, NY/JFK) made 30 saves, allowing six goals in the loss, as the Bengals were outshot just 37-34.  The teams combined to commit 21 penalties, as Buffalo State finished 2 for 9 with the power play, and Curry was 3 for 8.

Buffalo State will return to SUNYAC play next Friday at No. 5 Oswego at 7 p.m.
