POTSDAM, NY—Buffalo State (10-9/7-5) used a 25-2 run to open the second half to race to a 92-61 victory in a SUNYAC game today over host Potsdam (1-17/0-11).
Olivia Luciani's (E. Syracuse/E. Syracuse-Minoa) 21 points led Buffalo State's offense.
Brittnee Perry (Buffalo/Hutch Tech) added 12 points and nine rebounds to go with five assists, while
Keyonte Edwards (Buffalo/O'Hara) had 10 points and eight boards.
Ashley Wallace (Lockport/Starpoint) chipped in nine points and eight rebounds.
Potsdam scored first, but never lead again as Buffalo State pulled ahead by as many as 19 before the Bears cut the halftime deficit to 38-31. Wallace hit a pair of layups to open the second-half scoring and Buffalo State was off to the races.
Buffalo State dominated the Bears at both ends of the floor, holding a 59-35 rebounding advantage. The Bengals committed 24 turnovers, but converted 26 Potsdam miscues into 34 points. The Bengals shot 46 percent from the field and were 9 of 19 from 3-point range. Buffalo State continued its struggles at the free-throw line, however, hitting just 15 of 29. Potsdam shot just 35-percent from the field.
Buffalo State will next host Cortland in another SUNYAC game next Friday at 7:30 p.m.
