BUFFALO, N.Y.— Buffalo State women's volleyball defeated St. John Fisher in straight sets, but fell in five against Allegheny to split on Saturday afternoon, the final day of Bengal Challenge and last matches of the 2015 season.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Set one remained close through the majority of play, but the Bengals were able to gain momentum towards the end and take the win to go ahead 1-0.
- Buffalo State took the momentum from set one and applied it in the final two sets, easily taking the straight 3-0 win over the Cardinals.
- Delaney Laper (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda) led the Bengals on offense with 12 kills. Kayla Pyc (Grand Island/Grand Island) and Ashleen Speen (Vestal/Vestal) each added five kills. Jennifer Cecchettini (Hamburg/Frontier) dished out 19 assists.
- Defensively, Laper again led the Bengals, recording a team-best 14 digs. Rachelle Kelchlin (W. Seneca/St. Mary's) tallied 11.
FOR THE FOES- Megan Miller and Anna Marcy both led the Cardinals offense with 10 kills apiece, while Meghan Stonebarger added 27 assists.
- Defensively, Katie Mazierski finished the game with 18 digs.

HOW IT HAPPENED- The Bengals and Allegheny traded wins back-and-forth before the Gators used a 6-2 start in the fifth set to gain momentum and take the overall win, 3-2.
- Pyc led the Bengals on offense with 13 kills. Laper added 12 kills and Cecchettini tallied 31 assists.
- Kelchlin recorded a team-best 20 digs, while Britt Hallett-Jonathan (Basom/Akron), Cecchettini and Laper finished with 19, 17 and 16, respectively.
NOTEWORTHY- Prior to the second match of the day, the Bengals recognized their six seniors, Cecchettini, Hallett-Jonathan, Kelchlin, Pyc, Laper and Hannah Renaldo (N. Collins/N. Collins) who all played in their final game as a Buffalo State Bengal.
