BUFFALO, N.Y.—
Nico McLean (Buffalo/Amherst) netted a game-high 29 points to go with 10 rebounds and five assists to lead host Buffalo State to a 100-91 victory over Villa Maria tonight on the first day of the Coles Classic.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Jordan Glover (Buffalo/St. Joe's) threw in 21 points to support the Bengals' attack, and Michael Henry (Syracuse/W. Genesee) had 19 points and 14 rebounds.
- The lead changed six times in the first half, but the Bengals took a 46-35 advantage into the intermission and would never relinquish the lead in the second stanza.
- The Bengals pushed the lead to as many as 16 on two separate occasions before holding on for the win.
- The teams combined to commit 60 personal fouls and attempted 82 free throw attempts.
- Buffalo State finished 29 of 44 at the charity stripe.
FOR THE FOES- Five Vikings scored in double-figures, led by 21 from Donte Campbell, and 20 points and eight rebounds from Darius Huggins.
- Justin Stokes added 16 points, and Kirby Driscoll and Andre Diggs had 11 each.
THE OPENING GAME- Nazareth (3-0) opened the first game on an 11-0 run and never trailed en route to an 80-70 victory over Bluffton (1-1).
- Mitch Ford led the Golden Flyers with 20 points and nine rebounds. Tyler Stenglein scored 15 points, Denzell Jackson netted 14, and Brendan Wind had 13.
- Thayne Recker paced Bluffton with 23 points. Austin Rohde added 17 points, and Jared Wentling scored nine points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
UP NEXTBuffalo State will face Nazareth in tomorrow's championship game at 6 p.m., and Bluffton and Villa Maria will meet in the consolation game at 4 p.m.
