BUFFALO, N.Y.—Buffalo State unofficially opened its 2015-16 season with an exhibition game at Division I Canisius College tonight, falling, 106-67.

HOW IT HAPPENED- All 16 Bengals saw action, with Lovell Smith (Buffalo/McKinley) leading the way with 23 points on 11 of 18 shooting.
- Nico McLean (Buffalo/Amherst) made his return to the Bengals' roster for the first time since 2011-12, adding eight points and two steals.
- Leon Moise (Brooklyn/Thomas Jefferson) chipped in a team-best eight rebounds to go with three points.
- The undersized Bengals battled hard on the boards with Canisius only posting a 40-34 rebounding advantage.
- Both teams struggled to take care of the ball with Buffalo State committing 30 turnovers, while the Griffs had 24.
- Canisius outscored Buffalo State 30-9 from 3-point range, and 30-14 from the charity strip.
- The Griffs shot 54 percent from the floor, and Buffalo State hit 39 percent.
FOR THE FOES- Isaiah Gurley led five Griffs scoring in double figures with 16 points, and Kassius Robertson added 13 points.
