Nikki Kirchberger (Buffalo, NY/W. Seneca West) scored twice and
Justine Silva (Baldwin Park, CA/Arroyo) made 22 saves for her first collegiate shutout as Buffalo State remained unbeaten to open the season, defeating visiting Potsdam, 4-0, in an ECAC West game today at the Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Maddie Toczek (N. Tonawanda/Starpoint) added a goal and an assist for the Bengals, opening the scoring just 4:30 into the contest.
- Erin Gehen (West Seneca, NY/W. Seneca West) pushed the lead to 2-0 midway through the opening period with her fourth goal of the season and third shorthanded tally of the young campaign.
- After a scoreless middle frame, Kirchberger netted a pair of third-period goals to put the game out of reach.
- Caitie Horvatits (Elma, NY/Iroquois) had a pair of assists, and Brooke Krantz (Penticton, BC/Penticton) chipped in an assist.
- Buffalo State outshot the Bears, 26-22.
FOR THE FOES- Abby Tardelli had 22 saves for Potsdam.
