OSWEGO, NY—
Mike DeLaVergne (Pawling, NY/Pawling) made 41 saves, but it was not enough as visiting Buffalo State (12-12-3) dropped a 2-0 decision against nationally-ranked No. 4 Oswego (18-3-4), ending the Bengals season in the SUNYAC semifinals.
The Lakers jumped out to an early lead when Brandon Adams scored his sixth of the season just 5:43 into the game. Adams scored again to extend the lead to 2-0 early in the second period, and neither teams would score again.
Buffalo State saved its best period of the night for the third, but could not break through despite sending 12 shots on goal. Oswego outshot the Bengals 43-21 for the game.
Buffalo State finished the season with double-digit wins for the fifth-consecutive season and advanced to the semifinals for the fourth-straight year.
Oswego will advance to the title game next Saturday at Plattsburgh.
