CLERMONT, Fla. – Buffalo State (1-1) lost to Clarkson (9-2), 5-3, but bounced back for a 12-2 win in five innings against Framingham State (1-7) to open the 2015 season at John Hancock Park.

Four errors by the Bengals helped Clarkson come back for the win in game one. The Knights struck first with an unearned run on an error. Kate Brownell (Batavia, NY/Oakfield-Alabama) answered for Buffalo State in the bottom of the inning with a three-run homerun. In the top of the third, Clarkson regained the lead, 4-3 and followed up with another run in the seventh. Buffalo State registered six more hits in the game, but could not get the runs they needed.

A rip up the middle gave Framingham State its second and final run of the game in the third inning. The Bengals once again responded and added three more runs in the bottom of the third. Stephanie Novo (Cheektowaga, NY/Depew) hit a bomb over the left field fence for a four-run home run to put Buffalo State up 12-2 in the fourth. The Bengals defense kept the Rams hitless in the top of the fifth to end the game.
