GENESEO, N.Y.—
Luke Pavone (Churchville/Churchville-Chili) netted a pair of goals to lift Buffalo State to a 2-1 victory over host Geneseo in a SUNYAC contest today at College Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Pavone opened the scoring in the 15th minute with an unassisted tally, scoring on a quick run from the left wing and firing a shot inside the far post.
- Geneseo evened the score in the 38th minute with a shot from 10 yards.
- Pavone completed the scoring, however, with his second of the game and fifth of the season when he booted home a ball from the middle of the box that was played on a corner kick by Tristan Myers (Rochester/Webster Thomas).
- Geneseo finished with a 15-10 advantage in shots, but 11 of the Knights attempts came in the second half when the Bengals were sitting back and preserving the one-goal lead.
- William Banahene (Rochester/Brighton) made six saves in goal for Buffalo State for the victory.
FOR THE FOES- Jesse Levy scored the Geneseo goal with an assist from Alex Clar.
- Logan Calvey finished with a pair of saves for the Knights in goal.
NOTEWORTHY- Buffalo State was playing without its leading goal scorer entering the game, Bass Sarr (New York/JREC), who was suspended after receiving a red card from being assessed two yellows in yesterday's game at Brockport.
UP NEXTBuffalo State will make the short trip down I-190 South on Wednesday night for a 7 p.m. non-conference matchup against cross-town foe D'Youville.
