LOCATION:  Sports Arena – Buffalo, N.Y.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Despite losing, the Bengals did not make things easy for Fredonia as all four sets were close. The Blue Devils were able to make short runs at the end of the first two sets to take those wins, but Buffalo State battled back and closed out the third set with the final three points to push things into a fourth set. In the final set, the lead flipped back-and-forth, but Fredonia was able to finish with the win.

The final two sets were decided by just two points and remained close throughout with the Knights finding ways to wrap up the wins needed.
  • Renaldo also led the Bengal offense in match two with 18 kills, while Ashleen Speen (Vestal/Vestal) added a career-high 15.
  • Cecchettini upped her season-best output with 44 assists.
  • Kelchlin, Laper and Britt Hallett-Jonathan (Basom/Akron) each recorded 26 digs.
