BUFFALO, N.Y.—
Delaney Laper (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda) had a team-best 13 kills and 14 digs to lead Buffalo State to its fifth-straight win to open the season, defeating host Medaille in four sets tonight in a non-conference match.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Buffalo closed the first set on a 10-5 run to pull away and then cruised in the second set. Medaille jumped out to a 15-10 lead in the third set, and scored the final four points of the set to close it out and prolong the match. The Bengals never trailed in the final set to seal the victory.
- Kayla Pyc (Grand Island/Grand Island) had 10 kills with a .500 hitting percentage.
- Jennifer Cecchettini (Hamburg/Frontier) dished out 31 assists.
NOTEWORTHY - Buffalo State is 5-0 for the first time in the history of the program.
FOR THE FOES - Bailey Salemi and Susan Muldoon led Medaille with 13 and 12 kills respectively, and Simmone Talford had 36 assists.
UP NEXTBuffalo State will compete in the Marcia French Invitational this Friday and Saturday, hosted by Case Western and Baldwin Wallace in Cleveland, Ohio. The Bengals will play at Case on Friday against the host Spartans at 5:30 p.m. and against Carnegie Mellon at 7:30 p.m.
