Men’s Basketball Come From Behind to Defeat Oneonta, 82-73

ONEONTA, N.Y.— Buffalo State outscored Oneonta 47-29 in the second half and earned an 82-73 conference victory over the Red Dragons on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Jordan Glover (Buffalo/St. Joe's) opened up scoring with a 3-pointer, putting the Bengals in the lead 34 seconds into the game.
  • The teams traded the lead back-and-forth in the first 10 minutes of play, but a quick 11-0 run from Oneonta put the Red Dragons up, 29-19, at 8:24.
  • Buffalo State found itself down 44-35 heading into halftime.
  • In the second half, Oneonta held onto its lead until Lovell Smith (Buffalo/McKinley) hit a shot to put the Bengals back on top at 12:22, but the Red Dragons answered with another quick run and managed take over the lead again, going up 63-55 midway through the second half.
  • The Bengals remained unphased and fought back to tie the game, 64-64, with 7:24 remaining in the game.
  • With the score close in the final minutes, Buffalo State hit 10 free throws to help them seal the win.
  • Glover led the Bengals offense with 21 points, finishing 5-for-10 from long range. Nico McLean (Buffalo/Amherst) added a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Smith chipped in 15 points.
  • Buffalo State finished the night shooting 36.1 percent from the floor, 31.6 from long range and 80 percent from the charity stripe.
 
FOR THE FOES
  • Ian Schupp led the Oneonta offense with 19 points, while Mikey Mcelroy, Lawrence Coleman and Jackson Zuvic each added 12 points.
  • The Red Dragons finished the night shooting 48.1 percent from the floor, 42.1 percent from long range and 62.5 percent from the charity stripe.
