GENEVA, N.Y.— A goal in each period proved to be enough for Buffalo State to record its fifth straight win as the Bengals defeated William Smith in a conference matchup on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Missy Mallon (Amherst/Amherst) opened up scoring in the game, putting the Bengals ahead 1-0 midway through the first period.
- In the second period, Brooke Krantz (Penticton, BC/Penticton) tallied the eventual game-winner with a goal off a pass from Christine Harris (Mountain Top, PA/Wyoming Seminary) at 11:53.
- Buffalo State's third and final goal came in the last period when Nikki Kirchberger (Buffalo/W. Seneca West) took advantage of a Bengal power play and scored with just over nine minutes left in the game.
- William Smith managed to get on the scoreboard in the closing minutes of play with a goal at 17:45.
- The Bengals held a 42-24 advantage in total shots and finished 1 for 8 on the power play.
- Justine Silva (Baldwin Park, CA/Arroyo) earned the win in net, making 23 saves in 59:54.
