BUFFALO, N.Y.—
Lovell Smith (Buffalo/McKinley) hit 12-of-14 field goals and Buffalo State shot 58.6 percent from the floor as the Bengals cruised right past Potsdam, 105-61, in a conference matchup at home on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Smith opened the game with six straight points to put Buffalo State ahead, 6-2, at the 18-minute mark.
- Despite tying the game, 14-14, at 13:58, Potsdam would never manage to take over the lead.
- An 18-2 run that ended midway through the first half put Buffalo State ahead, 33-16, and the Bengals never looked back.
- A pair of free throws from Marc Nelson (Buffalo/Hutch Tech) gave the Bengals a 27-point lead with just over a minute to play in the half. Derrick Fernandez (Bronx/Herbert H. Lehman) followed up with a fastbreak layup to give Buffalo State its largest lead of the game, 54-25, 52 seconds before halftime.
- The Bengals continued to pour it on in the second half and Buffalo State found itself up by as many as 51 points.
- The closest Potsdam would get in the final 10 minute of play was 40 points, 81-41.
- Buffalo State's shot was on as the Bengals finished 58.6 percent from the floor and 50 percent from the 3-point line. The Bengals also held a 48-35 advantage in rebounds and outscored the Bears 28-4 on the fastbreak.
- Smith led the Buffalo State offense with 26 points. Domenic Grayer (Brooklyn/Bishop Loughlin) and Akeem Williams (White Plains/White Plains) both added 12 points, while Kevin Marmolejos (Woodhaven/Beach Channel) chipped in 11 points. Michael Henry (Syracuse/W. Genesee) pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds and tallied a team-high six assists.
FOR THE FOES- Potsdam finished the game shooting 32.3 percent from the floor, 26.3 percent from long range and 66.7 percent from the free throw line.
- Nosa Onabor led the Bears on offense with 17 points. Mitch Lamerson added 11 points and Kane Serigne chipped in nine points.
