HOW IT HAPPENED

• Dom Grayer (Brooklyn/Bishop Loughlin) led the Bengals with 23 points on 8 of 14 shooting, including hitting 5 of 10 from beyond the arc.
• Lovell Smith (Buffalo/McKinley) had a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Mike Henry (Syracuse/West Genesee) added 15 points, five assists and five boards.
• Jordan Chateau (Bayside/Lowell) chipped in 13 points.
• Buffalo State trailed 24-20 midway through the first half, but charged to a 43-32 lead at halftime and continued to pull way in the second half en route to the 21-point victory.
