BUFFALO, N.Y. — Elmira scored two first periods goals and was able to shutout the Buffalo State attack to collect a 4-0 win over the Bengals in an ECAC West contest this afternoon at the Buffalo State Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Soaring Eagles opened the scoring 15:22 into the first period and added another tally four minutes later to give Elmira a 2-0 lead after one.
- Elmira extended its lead to 3-0 with another goal 13:59 into the second.
- Buffalo State fired 12 shots on net during the second period, but found itself trailing by three heading into the third.
- Just two minutes into the third, Elmira struck again, this time on the power play to go ahead 4-0.
- Justine Silva (Baldwin Park, CA/Arroyo) made 27 saves, including 11 in the second in the losing effort.
- Rachel Lenard (Orchard Park/Nardin) and Erin Gehen (West Seneca/West Seneca West) led Buffalo State with five shots apiece.
FOR THE FOES
- Katie Granato led the charge for the Soaring Eagles, finishing the game with two goals.
- Shannon Strawinski and Maddy Jerolman each scored once.
- Kelcey Crawford made 22 stops to pick up her second shutout of the season.
