Men’s Soccer season ends in SUNYAC semis to No. 6 Cortland, 1-0

CORTLAND, N.Y.—Nationally No.6-ranked Cortland scored a late goal and slipped past visiting Buffalo State 1-0 in today's SUNYAC semifinal match at the SUNY Cortland Stadium Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The two teams headed into the intermission scoreless after an evenly opening 45 minutes.
  • The top-seeded Red Dragons started to take control in the second half and finally broke through in the 75th minute and held on for the narrow 1-0 victory.
  • Cortland finished the game with a 15-8 edge in shots, including 8-3 in the second half.
  • William Banahene (Rochester/Brighton) had five saves for Buffalo State.
