THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE:  #10 Buffalo State – 5, #1 Oswego - 1
LOCATION: Buffalo State Ice Arena, Buffalo, N.Y.
RECORDS: Buffalo State (9-3-1/5-2-1), Oswego (10-1-0/8-1-0)

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Marcus Michalski (Woodstock, ON/St. Mary's) and Anthony Passero (Fort Erie, ON/Lakeshore) added a goal and an assist each for the Bengals, and Taylor Pryce (Newmarket, ON/Cardinal Carter) also scored.
  • Darren Young (Woodstock, ON/St. Mary's) chipped in a pair of assists.
  • Buffalo State jumped out to a 2-0 lead just 7:48 into the contest.
  • Beaumont opened the scoring when he snapped a shot five-hole while streaking down the right wing off a feed from Michael Anthony Guerrera (Montreal, QC/OHA).
  • Pryce's sixth of the season on a nifty deke on the power-play extended the Bengals' lead.
  • Oswego got on the board with a power-play marker of its own in the final minute of the opening stanza.
  • DeLaVergne stood tall in the middle frame, and Michalski ripped a low shot through traffic that found the back of the net on the power play with just 25 seconds remaining to restore Buffalo State's two-goal lead entering the final period.
  • The Bengals created more separation just over three minutes into the final frame when a point shot by Nate Werhane (Arvada, CO/Ralston Valley) deflected off Passero and past the Oswego goalie.
  • DeLaVergne made a huge save moments later to preserve the three-goal advantage.
  • Beaumont finished the scoring midway through the period off a pretty passing play with Passero for his second of the game and third of the season on the power play.
  • Buffalo State outshot Oswego 31-28 for the game, including 12-7 in the third period.
  • The Bengals finished 3 of 6 on the power play, and the Lakers were 1 for 3.

FOR THE FOES
  • Alex Botten scored his fifth of the season for the Lakers.
  • David Jacobson finished with 26 saves in the loss.

NOTEWORTHY
