OSWEGO, N.Y.—Oswego never trailed as it picked up its first SUNYAC win of the season, defeating visiting Buffalo State 65-48 this afternoon at Max Ziel Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Princella McCullough (Rochester/Bishop Kearney) led Buffalo State with 16 points, shooting 8 of 11 from the floor, but could only grab a season-low five rebounds.
- Shyasha Spencer (Geneva/Geneva) was the next highest scorer for the Bengals with nine points and a team-best seven rebounds.
- The Bengals kept things close in the first half despite never holding the lead and trailed just 27-21 at the intermission.
- The Lakers incrementally pulled away in the second half, building their lead to as many as 22 before claiming the 17-point win.
- Buffalo State shot just 29 percent from the field for the game and was only 4 of 21 from 3-point range and 4 of 11 at the free throw line.
- The Lakers shot 37 percent from the field and were 16 of 18 at the charity stripe.
FOR THE FOES
- Heather Herbert paced Oswego with 19 points and eight rebounds.
- Rachael Winhausen had 18 points, and Courtney Ameele scored 14.
