OSWEGO, N.Y.— Nico McLean (Buffalo/Amherst) tallied 20 points, 12 rebounds and six assists, but it was not enough as visiting Buffalo State fell short at Oswego, 75-71, tonight in a SUNYAC contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Kevin Marmolejos (Woodhaven/Beach Channel) and Michael Henry (Syracuse/W. Genesee) added 13 points apiece, while Henry also pulled down eight rebounds.

• Buffalo State jumped out to an early five-point lead, but the Lakers responded with an 11-0 run and never let the Bengals in front the rest of the way. 
• Oswego held a 34-32 lead at intermission and pushed the advantage to as many as 13 in the second half. 
• The Bengals battled back and cut the deficit to 74-71 with 44 seconds remaining, but an offensive rebound by Oswego set up a late free throw to put the game out of reach.
• Oswego held a 27-12 scoring advantage from 3-point range which proved to be the difference in the game.

                                                      
FOR THE FOES

• Brian Sortino scored 23 points to lead four Lakers in double figures. 
• Kyle Covley added 22 points.
• Mark Candelario had 10 points and 11 rebounds, and Alex Rawa had 11 points and eight boards.
