Men’s Hockey Completes Sweep Over Morrisville, 5-1

MORRISVILLE, N.Y.—Buffalo State finished off the home-and-home series sweep over host Morrisville State tonight, claiming a 5-1 victory tonight in a SUNYAC contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Jake Rosen (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville North) and Taylor Pryce (Newmarket, ON/Cardinal Carter) had a goal and an assist apiece for to lead the Bengals' attack.
  • Ryan Hunter (Mississauga, ON/Lorne Park), Cory Gurski (Hilton, NY/Hilton) and Ryan Salkeld (Virginia Beach, VA/Churchland) also scored for Buffalo State.
  • Todd Graham (Melbourne, Australia) added three assists, and Zach Nieminen (Ajax, ON/Notre Dame CSS) had a pair of helpers.
  • Hunter opened the scoring with his first goal as a Bengal midway through the first period, and Gurski pushed the lead to 2-0 later in the first with his third goal in the last four games and fifth of the season.
  • Rosen netted his sixth of the year early in the middle frame, before the Mustangs finally broke through with a power-play tally to cut the deficit to 3-1 before the final stanza.
  • Salkeld and Pryce each netted their 11th goals of the season to put the game out of reach in the third period.
  • Buffalo State dominated Morrisville, outshooting the Mustangs, 42-23. 
  • Mike DeLaVergne (Pawling, NY/Pawling) finished with 22 saves for the Bengals.
