CLERMONT, Fla.— Buffalo State finished its annual Spring Trip with an 8-7 win over Thomas and a 6-5 loss to Middlebury.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Danielle Szymkowiak (Cheektowaga/Cheektowaga) led the Bengals offense in the first game, finishing 2 for 2 from the plate with two runs scored.
- Sarah Gorski (Cheektowaga/Depew) went 2 for 3 with two RBIs, while Chrissy Rennard (Brockport/Brockport) finished 2 for 4 with one run and one RBI.
- Lexi Haley (Rochester/Aquinas) earned the win in the circle, coming in as relief in the final 1.2 innings and holding the Terriers hitless and also recording two strikeouts.
- Nicole Adams (Lockport/Starpoint) pitched the first 5.1 innings, allowing six earned runs on eight hits with four walks and two strikeouts.
- Stephanie Novo (Cheektowaga/Depew) wasted little time getting the Bengals on the scoreboard, ripping a home run out to centerfield on the first play of the game.
- Buffalo State added two more runs to take a 3-0 lead heading into the second inning and added another run in the bottom of the third inning to go up by four runs.
- Thomas made things interesting in the fourth inning, after a pinch hitter for the Terriers hit a grand slam to tie the game, 4-4.
- The Bengals quickly regained the lead with a run in the bottom of the fourth and found themselves up 7-4 after five innings.
- Thomas, however, responded again to tie the game, 7-7, in the bottom of the sixth.
- With two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Buffalo State sealed the victory after two straight walks brought in the winning run.
FOR THE FOES- Jordanna Agger led the Terriers offense, finishing 2 for 3 from the plate with two runs and four RBIs.
- Sonja Morse recorded the loss in the circle, allowing five earned runs on six hits with nine walks and four strikeouts in four innings pitched.

LOCATION: National Training Center– Clermont, Fla.
RECORDS: Buffalo State (8-8), Middlebury (4-2)
HOW IT HAPPENED- Rennard led Buffalo State from the plate in the second game, finishing 2 for 3 with two runs and one RBI.
- Novo went 2 for 4 from the plate with one run and Melissa Woods (Lakeview/Frontier) went 1 for 2 with one run.
- Haley recorded the loss in the circle, pitching 6.1 innings and allowing six runs on 12 hits.
- The Bengals once again found themselves ahead 3-0 after the first innings, taking advantage of two Middlebury errors and three hits.
- Another run in the top of the third and one in the top of the fourth put Buffalo State ahead 5-0.
- The Middlebury bats came alive in the bottom of the fourth inning and allowed the Panthers to cut Buffalo State's lead to one run, 5-4.
- The Panther tied the game up in the bottom of the sixth and after keeping the Bengals scoreless in the final two innings were able to seal the win with a single run in the bottom of the seventh.
FOR THE FOES- Ande Troutman led Middlebury's offense, finishing 3 for 3 with two runs and one RBI.
- Irene Margiotta earned the win in the circle, pitching the last 2.2 innings and allowing just one hit, two walks and two strikeouts.
