CORTLAND, N.Y.—After surviving three-consecutive elimination games, Buffalo State ran out of gas in the SUNYAC Championship round, falling to unbeaten top-seeded host Cortland, 12-4 in six innings, ending the Bengals' season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Buffalo State struck first with a pair of RBI singles by freshman Cassandra O'Hern (Augusta, NJ/High Point) and senior Stephanie Novo (Cheektowaga/Depew) in the second inning, and then pushed the lead to 3-0 with an unearned run in the third inning.
- After limiting Cortland to one hit and no runs in the first two innings, the Red Dragons' bats came to life, producing 14 hits and 12 runs over the next 3 2/3 innings. Cortland scored one run each in the third and fourth innings, and then plated six in the fifth and four more in the sixth to end the game early.
- O'Hern finished 2 for 3 with an RBI and run scored, accounting for two of the Bengals' seven hits.
- Novo was 1 for 4 in her final game as a Bengal.
- Lexi Haley (Rochester/Aquinas) also concluded her career at Buffalo State, suffering the loss in the circle, allowing 15 hits and 11 earned runs. She ended the season with a record of 17-11.

- Erin Wolstenholme was 3 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs scored, and Mikayla Shade was 3 for 4 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs scored to lead Cortland.
