Women’s Volleyball earns first win over Utica

CORTLAND, N.Y.—After dropping a five-set decision against Nazareth this morning, Buffalo State earned its first victory of the season in straight-sets over Utica this afternoon at the Cortland Red Dragon Classic.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Buffalo State put Nazareth on the ropes in the early match, winning two of the first three sets, but the Golden Flyers responded by limiting the Bengals to just 13 combined points in the final two sets.
  • Lauren Hansen (Blue Point/Bayport Blue Point) led Buffalo State with 13 kills and had two blocks, while Riley Chapman (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) added nine kills.
  • Meg Brandon (Flint, MI/Grand Blanc) finished with 19 assists, five aces and 12 digs.
