Men’s Basketball wins ‘battle’ at Fredonia, 83-75

FREDONIA, N.Y.— Mike Henry (Syracuse/West Genesee) netted a team-high 22 points to lead Buffalo State to a 83-75 victory over host Fredonia today in an important contest in the season-long Battle by the Lake competition and in the SUNYAC playoff race.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Henry shot 8 of 10 from the field and added eight rebounds and three steals.
  • Lovell Smith (Buffalo/McKinley) poured in 17 points to go with six rebounds.
  • Nico McLean (Buffalo/Amherst) added 14 points and five assists, and Dom Grayer (Brooklyn/Bishop Loughlin) netted 13 points.
  • Buffalo State used a 14-3 run early in the first half to build a 13-point lead it would never surrender. 
  • The Bengals led 42-35 at the break and stretched the advantage to as many as 21 in the second half before coasting to the win.
  • Buffalo State shot 57 percent from the field for the game and hit 9 of 20 from beyond the arc. 
  • Buffalo State outrebounded the Blue Devils, 33-24.

  • Kareem Brown paced Fredonia with 24 points. 
  • Richard DeLaCruz added 20 points.
