LOCATION:  Ice Arena - Buffalo, N.Y.
RECORDS:  Brockport (3-0/1-0), Buffalo State (1-2/0-1)

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Buffalo State controlled much of the possession in the opening period, but the game remained scoreless through 20 minutes.
  • The Golden Eagles dominated the middle frame, outshooting the Bengals 15-4, and finally broke through with 3:45 remaining in the period with a shot from beneath the goal line that ricocheted into the back of the net.
  • Brockport added a late goal to take a 2-0 lead into the final stanza.
  • Braeden Doust (Jamesville, NY/Jamesville DeWitt) banged home a rebound for his second goal of the season just over two minutes into the second period to get the Bengals back in the game.  Colin O'Connor (Kankakee, IL/Providence Catholic) and Hugo Petit (Chelsea, QC/CIH Academy) drew the assists.
  • A Bengals' penalty stifled the momentum and Brockport netted a power-play tally to regain the two-goal lead.  Brockport scored again just 1:12 later and added an empty-netter to complete the scoring.
  • The Golden Eagles outshot the Bengals 30-20 for the game.
  • Connor Minch (Manchester, NH/Manchester Central) finished with 25 saves in the loss.
  • Buffalo State was 0 for 3 on the power play with zero shots, while Brockport finished 1 for 5.
