Men’s Basketball falls to Cortland in offensive affair, 105-88

CORTLAND, N.Y.— Sheldon Adams (Rochester/Bishop Kearney) scored a career-high 29 points, but it was not enough as Cortland used an 18-4 run to break open the game and never looked back en route to a 105-88 victory over visiting Buffalo State in today's SUNYAC contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Mike Henry (Syracuse/West Genesee) finished with 16 points and four assists.
  • Sir.Quintin Campbell (Tonawanda/Kenmore East) added 16 points and nine rebounds.
  • Buffalo State and Cortland traded runs in the early minutes until a jumper from Campbell gave the Bengals the 24-23 lead after 10 minutes of action.
  • The Red Dragons retook the lead using an 11-0 run and used the momentum to take a 42-36 lead with 2:50 left in the first half.
  • The Bengals scored only one field goal in the final 2:50 to find themselves on the wrong end of a 52-38 lead at halftime.
  • Cortland continued its run to extend the lead to 20 points with 18:32 left in the game and poured on 53 second-half points to cruise for the win.
  • Cortland shot 53 percent from the floor and 47 percent from the 3-point line.
  • Buffalo State outscored the Red Dragons 38-28 in points in the paint.
