BUFFALO, N.Y.—Third-seeded Oswego scored three goals in a span of 5:02 early in the first period and pulled away for a 5-0 victory over host No. 2 Buffalo State in a Northeast Women's Hockey League (NEWHL) semifinal contest this afternoon at the Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lakers capitalized on a Buffalo State defensive zone turnover, opening the scoring with an unassisted tally just 5:28 into the contest.
- Oswego took less than four minutes to extend the lead and then pushed the margin to 3-0 just 1:06 later.
- The Lakers struck on the power-play in the middle period to extend the lead to 4-0 despite the Bengals controlling much of the play.
- Buffalo State outshot the Lakers 10-3 in the final frame, but Oswego took advantage of another turnover to net a shorthanded breakaway goal to complete the scoring.
- Buffalo State finished with a 24-18 edge in shots on goal, but finished 0 for 6 on the power play. Oswego was 1 for 5 with the extra attacker.
