GENESEO, NY—No. 6 Buffalo State tied the score in the in the seventh inning, but fifth-seeded Plattsburgh scored in the eighth to secure a 5-4 extra-inning victory today in the first elimination game of the SUNYAC Championships.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Buffalo State plated four runs on just three hits, capitalizing on five Plattsburgh errors.
- The Cardinals took an early 1-0 lead in the second inning, taking advantage of a two-out error by the Bengals.
- Buffalo State answered with three runs on two hits and three errors in the third inning to take the lead. Julia Blujus (Amherst/Sacred Heart) drove in the first run with an RBI single, followed by a bases loaded walk by Cassie O'Hern (Augusta, NJ/High Point), and then added another run on a wild pitch.
- Plattsburgh cut the deficit with one run in the third and added two more in the fifth on an RBI double and then plated the go-ahead run on a wild pitch.
- Justine Silva (Baldwin Park, CA/Arroyo) singled to lead off the seventh inning and eventually scored on an error on an infield grounder. Silva finished 2 for 3 with two runs scored.
- The Bengals were retired in order in the eighth, before Plattsburgh produced a pair of singles before plating the winning run on a sacrifice fly.
- Nicole Adams (Lockport/Starpoint) scattered 10 hits and allowed four earned runs in the complete game loss in the circle.
FOR THE FOES
- Jennifer Groat was 2 for 4 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs scored for Plattsburgh.
- Katie Pitkin allowed just three hits and one earned run in the win.
