TROY, N.Y.— Buffalo State was unable to convert on a couple of first-half chances and Farmingdale State made it pay with a penalty kick in double overtime en route to a 1-0 victory in today's season opener at the RPI Engineers Cup.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Buffalo State opened the game with multiple scoring chances, including four corners, but were unable to capitalize.
- Farmingdale State returned the favor with a 9-1 shots advantage in the second half but were unable to end the contest in regulation.
- Both teams generated modest chances in the first overtime, but the Rams eventually ended it with 5:56 remaining in the second overtime on penalty kick.
- Farmingdale State finished with an 18-3 shot advantage, including 6-1 on goal.
