MORRISVILLE, N.Y.—Buffalo State suffered two more losses to finish off the Morrisville State Invitational this afternoon, falling in straight sets to host Morrisville State and Penn St.-Behrend.
MATCH #1 BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Buffalo State jumped out to an early 8-4 lead and pushed the advantage to 19-13, before Morrisville mounted a first-set comeback. The Mustangs ripped off six-straight points to take the lead and won four of the final five points to claim the opening set.
- After the Mustangs took the second set, the Bengals jumped out to an early 5-1 lead in the third set, but Morrisville responded with an 8-1 run to take the lead. The Bengals bounced back and led 16-13, but the Mustangs responded and eventually closed the match with a 9-3 run.
- Maria Gelyon (West Seneca/Immuculata) had seven kills and three blocks to lead Buffalo State at the net.
- Brooke Federko (Jamestown/Jamestown) and Tyler Reis (Meridianville, AL/Hazel Green) share setting duties again, tallying 13 and 10 assists respectively.
- Hanna Cormier (Fort Edward/Warhill) was the only Bengal with double-digit digs, finishing with 10.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After Penn-St. Behrend jumped out to an early 10-4 lead in the first set, Buffalo State scored eight of the next 11 points to cut the lead to 13-12. The Lions finished the set with three 4-0 runs to take the frame 25-14.
- The Bengals again found themselves within a two point deficit in the second set but were unable to retake the lead, falling 25-19.
- Penn St.-Behrend closed out the match with 7-0 run early in the third frame and used the momentum to close out the win.
- Alena McKelvey (Buffalo/City Honors) finished with 10 kills and seven digs.
- Brooke Latour (Lakewood/Southwestern), Bryanna Fisher (Brooklyn/Midwood) and Gelyon all added three kills.
- Cormier finished with double-digit digs for the second straight game, finishing with 12 for the game.
