SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—
Sam Maddox (St. Louis, MO/Lindburgh) had two goals and an assist as Buffalo State exploded for seven goals in a 7-3 victory over Brockport today in a non-league consolation game in the Skidmore Invitational.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ryan Edgar (Foristell, MO/Whitfield) also had three points for the Bengals with a goal and two assists.
- Joe McGrath (East Aurora, NY/St. Francis) netted his first collegiate goal and chipped in an assist, and Reid Bibb (Gaithersburg, MD/Gaithersburg), Nikita Kozyrev (Tallinn, Estonia) and Ben Butcher (Bellingham, WA/Langley) also scored for Buffalo State.
- A.J. Marinelli (Amherst, NY/Kenmore East) added a pair of assists.
- The Bengals scored twice in the first period, including Maddox on the power play and McGrath's first.
- Bibb netted a shorthanded goal in the second period, and Kozyrev made it 4-0 less than two minutes later.
- Brockport finally got on the board with just over five minutes remaining in the second period, but the Bengals pushed the lead back to four when Butcher scored with 15 seconds remaining.
- The teams traded goals in the third period, with Maddox and Edgar scoring for Buffalo State.
- Connor Minch (Manchester, NH/Manchester Central) earned the win in goal, making 31 saves.
NOTEWORTHY
- Maddox was named to the All-Tournament Team.
