Men’s Hockey rallies for 4-2 win at Cortland

CORTLAND, N.Y.— Andrew Husted (Niagara Falls, NY/Grand Island) had a goal and two assists and Buffalo State scored three times in the third period to claim a 4-2 SUNYAC victory tonight at Cortland.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Connor Zak (Amherst, NY/Nichols) added a goal and an assist for Buffalo State, and Reid Bibb (Gaithersburg, MD/Gaithersburg) and Colin O'Connor (Kankakee, IL/Providence Catholic) also scored.
  • The Bengals peppered the Red Dragons' goal with 20 first-period shots, but led just 1-0 after 20 minutes on Zak's second goal of the season.
  • Cortland pulled ahead in the second period with a pair of power-play goals just over three minutes apart in the middle of the frame.
  • Husted evened the score for Buffalo State with his team-leading ninth goal of the season just 1:29 into the third period.
  • Buffalo State took advantage of a five-minute power play midway through the frame when Bibb put the Bengals back in front with a wrist shot from the top of the circle to the back of the net for his second goal of the year.
