BUFFALO, N.Y.—No. 2 Geneseo scored three goals in the first period and three more in the second to extend its unbeaten streak to 19 games with a 6-2 victory over host Buffalo State in a SUNYAC game tonight at the Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vadim Vasjonkin (Tallinn, Estonia) and Reid Bibb (Gaithersburg, MD/Gaithersburg) scored for Buffalo State, and Michael Anthony Guerrera (Montreal, QC/OHA), Mac Wood (Simcoe, ON/SCS) and Jon Colley (Stouffville, ON/Stouffville District) each collected assists.
- Vasjonkin opened the scoring less than eight minutes into the game with his ninth of the season to give Buffalo State the early lead.
- Geneseo responded with a power-play goal less than three minutes later and then scored a pair of goals just 49 seconds apart late in the period.
- The Knights extended their lead 28 seconds into the second period and pushed the lead to 5-1 five minutes later.
- Bibb netted his third of the season to cut the deficit to three midway through the second period, but Geneseo completed the scoring with an insurance marker in the closing minutes of the stanza.
- Buffalo State played its strongest period in the third, but neither team would score.
- Geneseo finished with a 32-21 advantage in shots on goal, including 26-11 over the first 40 minutes.
- Connor Minch (Manchester, NH/Manchester Central) started the game and made 12 saves on 17 shots. Trevor Micucci (Hamburg, NY/Connections Acad.) made 14 saves on 15 shots in relief.
