BUFFALO, N.Y.—No. 2/3 Plattsburgh peppered the Buffalo State goal with 61 shots and netted three power-play goals to pull away for a 7-1 victory in an NEWHL contest today at the Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Plattsburgh got on the board exactly one minute into the game and extended the lead to 3-0 before the first intermission.
- Buffalo State started the scoring early in the second period when Lila Toczek (Pendleton, NY/Starpoint) scored her 14th goal of the season on a rebound off a shorthanded breakaway by Emma Ruggiero (Amherst, NY/Sacred Heart).
- The Cardinals scored on the power play just 23 seconds later and added two more before the second intermission.
- Plattsburgh netted its third power-play goal early in the third period to complete the scoring.
- Bri Gawronski (Dunkirk, NY/Mt. Mercy) finished with 54 saves in the loss.
- The Cardinals were 3 for 9 on the power play and Buffalo State was 0 for 6.
FOR THE FOES
- Annie Katonka led Plattsburgh with two goals and an assist, and Ashley Songin also scored twice.
- Courtney Moriarty, Nicole Unsworth and Taylor Whitney added a goal apiece.
- Kassi Abbott finished with 13 saves.
