HOW IT HAPPENED
- Katie Villarini (Hamburg/Hamburg) was Buffalo State's leading scorer with nine points to go with six rebounds.
- Jenna Faulkner (Lockport/Starpoint) added seven points, and Grace Licata (Williamsville/Williamsville South) scored six.
- The SUNYAC's leading scorer Liv LeBaron (Corning/Corning East) was held to just five points.
- Buffalo State led 15-13 after a back-and-forth first quarter before the Hawks took control in the second.
- The Hawks opened the period on with an 18-0 run before Kaelee Lynch (Atwater, CA/Buhach Colony) hit a 3-pointer for the Bengals only points. New Paltz responded with the next nine points to take a 40-18 lead into the intermission.
- The Bengals never cut the deficit to less than 19 in the second half.
- Buffalo State shot just 29 percent for the game, compared to 42 percent shooting by New Paltz.
