BUFFALO, N.Y.— Janae Nelson (Elmont/Elmont Memorial) made with 16 saves to backstop Buffalo State to a 9-7 victory over visiting Potsdam today in SUNYAC action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Kendall Skuse (Churchville/Churchville-Chili) paced the Bengals on offense with six points on two goals and four assists.
  • Nina Schaefer (Lafayette/Lafayette) added three goals and two assists, and Jackie Dufresne (Lake View/Frontier) and Mary Musialowski (Lancaster/Sacred Heart) scored twice each.
  • Hannah Nagowski (Lancaster/Lancaster) chipped in a pair of assists.
  • The Bengals opened up a 3-0 lead midway through the first half and never trailed in the game.
  • After two late goals by Potsdam, the Bengals led 4-3 at the intermission.
  • Buffalo State reclaimed the three-goal margin halfway through the second half and held on for the win.
  • Potsdam held a 28-26 edge in shots, including 23-17 on goal.  The Bears also had an 11-6 advantage in draw controls.

  • Meaghan Paige led Potsdam with two goals.
