PLATTSBURGH, N.Y.— No. 1-ranked Plattsburgh scored four second-period goals to hand visiting Buffalo State a 6-0 defeat in NEWHL action this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Soleil Archambeault (London, ON/Medway) tallied a career-high 45 saves in the loss.
  • Buffalo State's defense held strong in the opening period, overcoming a 20-2 shots on goal differential to keep the score 0-0 after the first 20 minutes of action.
  • Plattsburgh responded with a pair of goals in first two minutes of the second period to capture the lead and would extend it to 3-0 just five minutes later.
  • The Cardinals tacked on a late goal to take a 4-0 lead into the final intermission and closed out its scoring with a two-goal third period.
  • The Bengals finished with 25 blocked shots as Plattsburgh finished with a 51-11 shots on goal advantage.
  • Buffalo State held the Cardinals to 0 of 2 on power-play chances but failed to capitalize on any of its three power-play opportunities.
