BUFFALO, N.Y.— Buffalo State overcame a seven-point deficit with six minutes remaining to claim a 79-75 victory over visiting Plattsburgh in SUNYAC action tonight at the Sports Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Liv LeBaron (Corning/Corning East) continued her dominance this season, leading all scorers with 31 points to go with 12 rebounds and four steals. LeBaron was 9 of 19 from the field, including 5 of 9 from 3-point range and was 8 of 10 at the charity stripe.
- Katie Villarini (Hamburg/Hamburg) added 18 points and three assists, and Kaelee Lynch (Atwater, CA/Buhach Colony) netted 10 points.
- Buffalo State led for most of the first half and took a 35-27 lead into the intermission.
- The Bengals scored five of the first six points in the second half to grow the lead to 12, but the Cardinals responded with a 25-10 run and took a three-point lead at the close of the third quarter.
- Plattsburgh hit a 3-pointer to push the lead to seven at 62-55 with six minutes remaining, but Villarini answered with a 3-pointer on the next possession which sparked a 15-2 run by the Bengals to reclaim the lead.
- The Cardinals closed the deficit to 76-74 with another 3-pointer with 10 seconds remaining, but a pair of free throws by LeBaron and then another make by Jenna Lee (Wallkill/Wallkill) sealed the win.
- Plattsburgh outscored the Bengals 30-16 in the paint, but Buffalo State held a 42-18 advantage in 3-point scoring. Buffalo State's 14 3-pointers was one shy of matching the school's single-game record.
FOR THE FOES
- Theresa Quinn led Plattsburgh with 28 points.
- Kayla Doody scored 12, and Taylor Clare had 11 points and 12 rebounds.
NOTEWORTHY
- LeBaron moved up another spot into sixth on the Bengals' all-time scoring list with 1,148 points since transferring to the college. She is now 71 points behind Jacey Brooks for fifth.
