Katie Villarini (Hamburg/Hamburg) is second on the team and fourth in the SUNYAC in scoring at 15.4 points/game and is sixth in assists at 3.2 assists/game.
Scouting Fredonia…The Blue Devils enter the showdown 9-15 overall (5-12 SUNYAC) after getting swept by Oneonta and New Paltz last weekend. Sophomore Katie Pitcher has paced Fredonia with 11.3 points/game and 6.5 rebounds/game this season. Senior Anna Chiacchia and junior Rae White are tied for second on the team in scoring at 9.5 points/game.
The series…Buffalo State is 40-19 all-time against the Blue Devils but has dropped five of the last six meeting in Fredonia. LeBaron and Villarini combined to score 35 points and grab 21 rebounds as the Bengals cruised to a 72-59 win over Fredonia in the first meeting this season on Dec. 7.

Jordan Christopher (Bronx/Mott Haven Campus) is second in scoring at 13.4 points/game and is fifth in the SUNYAC in rebounding at 8.8 rebounds/game, while senior
Kay Grant (Jamaica/Thomas Jefferson) leads the conference with 4.5 offensive rebounds/game.
Scouting Fredonia…The Blue Devils enter with an 8-16 overall record (4-13 SUNYAC) following a double-digit loss to Oneonta on Saturday. Junior Dydy Bryan leads Fredonia with 14.3 points/game and is second in field goal percentage at 58 percent this season. Seniors Tyler Roberts, De'Quan Smith and Moussa Samassa are all also scoring in double figures, with Samassa averaging a team-high 7.2 rebounds/game.
The series…Buffalo State is 43-18 all-time against the Blue Devils, winning eight of the previous nine meetings in Fredonia. The Bengals closed the contest on a 10-4 run en route to an 85-74 win over the Blue Devils in the series' first meeting this season on Dec. 7.
What's at stake…In addition to a home playoff game for Buffalo State's women's basketball team being on the line, a total of two points are on the line in the "Battle by the Lake" season-long competition. Up next…Buffalo State will also look to earn four more points that come with finishing higher in the SUNYAC Swimming & Diving Championships that conclude on Saturday. The Bengals and the Blue Devils will next meet at the SUNYAC Indoor Track & Field Championships at Brockport on Feb. 28-29.
Established for the 2014-15 season, the "Battle by the Lake" is a season-long "all sports" competition between Buffalo State and Fredonia. Each sport in which the two schools compete is worth two points annually. The school with the most points at the end of the season will earn the Lake Erie Cup and keep the cup on its campus for the following year (non-conference and postseason matchups will not count toward the Lake Erie Cup competition).
