BUFFALO, N.Y.— Cortland scored three goals in a four-minutes span in the first period and doubled its lead before the second intermission en route to a 7-0 win over host Buffalo State in NEWHL action this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cortland opened the scoring at the nine minute mark of the first period and extended its lead with a pair of goals just over a minute apart to claim a 3-0 lead at the first intermission.
- The Red Dragons tacked on three more goals in the second period to take a 6-0 lead into the final intermission.
- Cortland finished off the scoring with an insurance marker on a power-play opportunity in the third period.
- Victoria Cottrell (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) tallies eight saves in just over 22 minutes of action, while Soleil Archambeault (London, ON/Medway) finished with 16 saves in the final 37:40.
- Buffalo State held Cortland to 1 of 7 on the power-play chances but failed to overcome being outshot 31-24 and being held scoreless with an extra skater.
FOR THE FOES
- Jayden Kelley scored three goals, while Dany Donegan, Emily Rose and Grace Schnorr combined to tally six assists.
